I am curious as how you came up with the children of Solomon and Sophia/Nancy McCarty Swisher.
I have a Mundance Swisher, born 1836 died before the 1880 census.
I am a Swisher descendant. I am working on organizing the Swisher's of Gallia County.
I am also a McCarty descendant on both of mother's sides.
I have an Amanda Swisher who is the correct age that is probably the one who married Alonzo McCarty. She is the daughter of George W (Wilbur) and Mary Wheaton Swisher, the son of Jacob and Sarah (Sally Harry).
Mundance died without being married.

My grandmother is Florence (Outman) VanPelt. She grew up in northern New York state. You have all of my maternal relatives' obituaries here. Found this by chance. Thank you.

I was married to Leonard Orr Outman(1963)and gave birth to two of his children: Angela Lynn Outman(1964)and Lorie Ann Outman (1966).

I am one of the great grand-daughters of Florence (Johnston) Creed. She was the sister of Ginter Johnston who was married to Unetta (Kern) Johnston. Ginter and Unetta had 3 sons of which, Joe, was named after my great grandmothers father Joe Johnston and, Storm, who I would assume was named after her 1st husband (my Great Grandfather) Stormy Nordrud. He was killed while repairing train tracks when my grandmother Beatrice (Nordrud) Yager was a young girl. My "Granny" Creed later married Clyde Golden Creed who raised my Grandma Bea and created wonderful childhood memories for the rest of us on the family farm in Millbrook Michigan.
I have many wonderful photos of many of the people listed on this page. I would love to share and learn more about them.

I am the son of Charles Outman - grandson of William Ellis Outman.

I was married to Diane Wilde which is on the list and am now married to Christine Lynn (Crain) Outman.

I have two sons Logan and Luke.

I went searching because my wife ran into an Outman from Jackson, MO - Ella Outman (4 yrs old) whose father is Jonathan Outman and we were trying to figure out the relation.

My great-grandparents, Samuel Daniel Beegle and Sarah Ann Cooper, had a daughter, Adella Louella Beegle, who married Frank(lin) Marshall Tuthill in Clay Center, Clay, Kansas, on 10 Jan 1880. I was searching for info about Adella and Frank when I found your site. Fine job, BTW. I can't imagine how many hours are represented here. If you've run across anything about my g-grandparents, I'd love to know about it. Samuel Daniel Beegle was a minister and was a state rep from Clay Co. in 1874 and 1875. He had a photography studio, advertised in the Cressett, the Clay Center newspaper, in 1883. I have been unable to find anything at all about him after that date, either in Kansas or in Oregon, where the rest of the family emigrated to. Thanks for the fine site.

I was raised in Ulysses,Pa. by Stanley and Edna Scott. I had the extreme pleasue of knowing all the Outmans from that area. Very nice people. Infact I still have a picture of Russell Jr. on his new motorcycle back in the 60's. They came in the resturant every day for coffee,a place than known as Scott's Pantry. Glad to find this site.

I recently came across this site not knowing my great grandfathers name, and was in search of it. I found that I had been recorded in this site, and am happy to say that I am a descendent of Stephen D. Outman. I thought my family was lost.

I was very happy to learn of the Outman website, I had no idea how many of us there are!! I especially enjoyed finding the pictures of my grandparents, George and Anna Outman which were taken when they were first married. It was also very thrilling to be able to see pictures of my great-gandparents, George and Polly for the first time.
There are a couple of minor date corrections I would like to give you. My mother Blanche Strauss Outman was born in August,1914 and my father George died on December 18, 1967. Also Charles Emig husband of Ethel Outman Died in March of 2004. My brother George Henry Jr. married to Constance Doolan has four children; Valerie b. 1985, George Thomas b. 1986, Matthew b.1988 and Emily b. 1989 Thnaks for all your hard work in putting this website together.

I was just surfing on the web about the genealogy of my last name, Outman. I found this site and it helped a lot. I found my grandpa, Alfred Outman and my great grandpa, William Outman. I thought it was interesting to see all the different Outmans in the United States. This is an EXCELLENT web site. You are to be congratulated for all the work that has gone into this. My great-great-great grandfather was Jonah Outman. My great-great-grandfather was George Washington Mellen and my great-great grandmother was Phebe Outman. My great grandmother was Phebe Mellen Miller and my grandfather (Rollo Miller)was close to his Outman 'cousins' where he grew up in Athens, Michigan during the early part of the twentieth century.

I have the same picture of the 1913 Outman family reunion that is contained on the website. I have had this picture for 20+ years--I knew it was a family reunion, but didn't know the exact year or what family. (My grandfather Rollo Miller) attended the reunion with his Mellen grandparents and his parents and told me who in is family attended). Present were: G.W. Mellen, Phebe Outman Mellen, their daughter Phebe Mellen Miller, her husband Bert Miller, and their children, Herbert, Fern, and Rollo. If you would like this info I'll attempt to email a marked copy of this photo.

I also have more detailed info concerning George W. Mellen's civil war service. Please let me know if you would like that info and I'll email that as well.

I remember hearing a story concerning Phebe Outman's brothers during the Civil War. Don't know which one. I remember hearing that one was captured by a Confederate patrol and the other along with G.W. Mellen alluded capture by being able to run fast. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this or a similiar story?

Also in the military biographies, is the picture under G.W. Mellen's name his picture or is it Hugh Outman? I would sure appreciate knowing this.

What a pleasant surprise I discovered accidentally when I was surfing for info on my Great Grandfather O'Leary, and stumbled onto your extensive site. As you can probably tell, I'm a descendant of Jacob J. Outman. Thanks for all of your work in organizing this site. It was great fun for me to browse the lineage of my ancestors. If you are interested, I could provide you a few corrections in the area of my family. My grandmother's name was Irene Carol Wetters. She was born Carol Irene, but legally changed it later in life. Interestingly, George W. Outman is listed as marrying Mary Wilcox. I was told that her name was Polly. Incidentally, one of your pictures has a caption with "Polly"

I am the great grandson of Mary Angeline Outman.John Clark Rowe was my grandfather.

I was so pleased to see a picture of my great grandfather Truman Outman. I had no idea what he looked like. (Actually, he looks just like his son Bert, my grandfather.) My mother, Vera Outman Bullard was his sixth child.
It was wonderful browsing through the pictures and finding out my lineage from this side of the family.

Hello. I used to live across the street from Helen and Harl Outman when I was a little girl in Vienna, Virginia...my name then was Kathy Foster (I think I was 3 years old then..) I lived with my mom Judy and my grandparents Lester (Tiny) and Ruth Bouque. I remember my brother Kenny and David and I playing together...I used to plan then to marry David when I grew up, lol! Well, I grew up and married someone else, lol, but am very happy. I have often thought of the Outmans and wondered how they all were...Helen and Harl were so nice to us..I have such good memories of them...lol and I will never forget visiting them in Paw Paw and having David and Kenny leave me at the bottom of the driveway with the tractor, lol! I don't have a lot of happy childhood memories, guess that's why I remember those happy ones, so well! Today I found this site, and Harl's obituary. I am so sorry. I was wondering how the rest of you are doing? Would love to hear from you if you see this.

Betty Ashbaugh (Step daughter of Verle Outman) married my brother, Richard Wood. I grew up with the Six Lakes, Michigan Outmans. Great people. My Parents were Stanley and Vera (Leach) Wood.

Mary Angeline Outman Rowe was my Greatgrand Mother. My Grandfather Martin Willard Rowe was her son.

I am obviously a descendant of Rachael~~ didnt know that until my daughter found it. There are some errors on birth dates of my brothers, and my 3 daughters. Where would I correct these for you?
