Reports of the 1986 Outman Reunion, in St. Louis found their way into newspapers in both Battle Creek, Michigan and De Soto, Missouri:

News article in the Battle Creek Enquirer, 19 Sept. 1986:

October 9, 1911

St. Louis reunion is their first

The last Outman family reunion was held in Athens, a convenient place for family members Dorothy and Leo Voss of 988 R. Drive South in Athens Township. And even though the next one, taking place Sept. 27 is in the distant city of St. Louis, Mo., the Voss couple plan to attend.

They'll be going with Lyle Miller (Dorothy's father) and Arlene Collins of Leonidas, all Outman family descendants.

Dorothy's great-great grandfather, Jonah Outman, came to Athens township in 1850, and the farm where the Voss couple live today has been owned by the same family since 1864.

This will be a special reunion for the Michigan Outmans since it's the first they've attended. The last one was held in Athens, but the year was 1913.

News article in the De Soto, Missouri newspaper:
